Phantasmagoria
Phantasmagoria is an immersive installation created to briefly bring passersby into another world – the terrifying world of a young child’s nightmares. As adults, we discard many of our phobias through the process of growing older and learning to rationalize. Children, however, live in a world of constant irrationality. The slightest stimuli can taint and twist the idea of a face-paint wearing entertainer, a small insect, or an empty playground into scenes of foreboding or sheer terror. Phantasmagoria not only caused our audience to revisit a world of irrational old fears they may have grown out of, but also allowed them to reflect on their current phobias and how they can surpass them.
